The Courageous Tangyuan

  • The Courageous Tangyuan is an authentic Chinese folk tale that exemplifies the wisdom and charm of traditional storytelling. The story follows a little chick and its six friends as they cook tangyuan, gain strength, and work together to rescue the chick’s mother from danger.

Written by Yi Wei, a master of folk tales, the text is witty, rhythmic, and humorous. Illustrated by award-winning artist Yeshuang WANG, the book features handcrafted fabric collages that bring the story to life with creativity and cultural richness. Embedded within the tale is an introduction to the Lantern Festival, offering children a deeper understanding of Chinese traditions.
