My Dad is Invisible

  • My Dad is Invisible is about the daily life of family. A girl who is always ignored by her father, becomes angry and decides to deem her dad invisible. In order to ease the family's embarrassment, her mother also joins the game. Finally, the little girl forgives her dad and they get back together through these funny episodes, although she worries that her dad will become transparent again.

    The illustrator makes use of colors to express the little girl’s emotions. The adornments inside their house also changes with the little girl’s mood. A relationship among the family of three is vividly portrayed through its richness in detail. 

  • Jie WEI (writer) is an award-winning poet. Being one of the most important children’s poet in China, she has published more than 30 picture books. In 2011, her comprehensive poetry brought her China’s major award on Children’s literature, The Chen Bochui Children’s Literature Award.

    Yin YU (illustrator) works as freelance artist after graduating from China Academy of Art. She also received various awards and nominations, including Golden Pinwheel Young Illustrators Award. She entered Bologna Illustration Exhibition in 2022.
